Social Organisation Holds 'Community Kitchen'
Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) - Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust organised a Community Kitchen , or 'Ann Bhandara' at Industrial Area, Phase 1, Panchkula. During the initiative, food was respectfully served to a large number of people, including those in need and members of the working community.

Panchkula, August 30, 2026: Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) - Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust organised a Community Kitchen , or 'Ann Bhandara' at Industrial Area, Phase 1, Panchkula. During the initiative, food was respectfully served to a large number of people, including those in need and members of the working community.
Speaking on the occasion, social worker Amitabh Rungta, who is also Founder of Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust, said, "Ann Bhandara is regarded as one of the most revered forms of charity in India’s religious and spiritual traditions. Providing food to someone in need is not merely about addressing an immediate requirement, but is also considered a form of serving the divine through service to humanity."
Amitabh Rungta said that society today needs not only economic growth but also greater social sensitivity, cooperation and a spirit of service. Initiatives such as Ann Bhandaras bring people from different sections of society closer and foster a sense of responsibility towards those in need.
He said that the Purushottam Das Rungta Charitable Trust has so far organised 230 Ann Bhandaras, through which food has been served to thousands of people. The Trust remains committed to extending support to underprivileged sections of society through continuous service initiatives and encouraging more people to come forward and contribute to the cause of service and philanthropy.
