The Institute of Management Studies and Research (IMSAR) at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, kicked off its two-day Golden Jubilee celebrations, marking five decades of contribution to management education, research and entrepreneurship.

Rohtak, October 9, 2026: The Institute of Management Studies and Research (IMSAR) at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, kicked off its two-day Golden Jubilee celebrations, marking five decades of contribution to management education, research and entrepreneurship.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, MDU vice-chancellor Prof Milap Poonia urged students to move beyond conventional management careers and turn innovative ideas into startups. He said the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) had made critical thinking, social intelligence and emotional intelligence essential skills for future managers.

Prof Poonia said the golden jubilee was not merely an occasion to celebrate past achievements but also an opportunity to set new goals and prepare for emerging global challenges. He called upon students to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 by becoming entrepreneurs, creating employment and placing national interests at the forefront.

A key highlight was alumnus Rakesh Kamra’s announcement of financial assistance of ₹1 lakh for a student launching a startup. The IMSAR Alumni Association also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and supporting the next generation of management professionals.

Registrar Prof Sandeep Bansal stressed the importance of innovation, research and entrepreneurship-driven management education. Dean Academic Affairs Prof Randeep Rana described the milestone as a reflection of IMSAR’s academic legacy and achievements.

In his welcome address, IMSAR director Prof Pradeep Kumar Ahlawat highlighted the institute’s five-decade journey, research contributions, placement initiatives, workshops and alumni achievements.

The celebrations featured vibrant cultural performances by students, adding to the festive spirit. A sapling plantation drive was also organised to promote environmental conservation and sustainability. The event witnessed the participation of alumni, serving faculty members and retired professors, who reunited to celebrate their association with the institute and reflect on its legacy.
