MDU workshop to sharpen students’ employability skills

Rohtak, September 14, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University’s Department of Mathematics on Monday launched a week-long workshop on “Employability Enhancement Skills” to equip students with skills aligned with evolving workplace demands.
Organised by the department and the Career Counselling and Placement Cell (CCPC), in collaboration with the Nandi Foundation under the Mahindra Pride Classroom initiative, the workshop will continue till September 19.
Department Chairperson Prof Sumit Gill said academic qualifications alone were no longer enough to secure career opportunities in a competitive environment. Effective communication, confidence, personality development and workplace skills were equally important, he said.
CCPC Director Prof Divya Malhan said the training would help students understand and meet changing industry expectations, while Deputy Director and NSS Coordinator Prof Savita Rathi urged participants to engage actively in the sessions.
Experts Rajiv Kumar and Vineet Kumar will conduct the training during the week. Dr Anju Pawar and Dr Meenakshi Hooda are coordinating the workshop, with Dr Monika Sangwan and Neha assisting as team members.
Dr Poonam Redhu along with research scholars and students, attended the inaugural session.
