MDU VC Prof. Milap Punia Interacts with UIET Faculty and Research Scholars
Emphasizes Focus on Industry Connect, Hands-on Training, Research Grants, Interdisciplinary Approaches, Student Interaction, and Alumni Networks
Rohtak, June 4, 2026: MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia visited the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) today and engaged in a dialogue with the faculty members and research scholars.
Placing special emphasis on capacity building for students and researchers, he issued directives for UIET to formulate an effective action plan in this regard. Focusing on providing students with practical training in the latest technologies and techniques, the Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of preparing them in alignment with the specific requirements of the industrial sector.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia underscored the necessity of regularly organizing student-centric seminars and workshops. He specifically advocated for promoting hands-on training, stating that the more practical experience students acquire, the stronger their prospects for employment and innovation will become. He also called for an increase in activities designed to connect students directly with the real-world needs of various industries.
Prof. Punia further emphasized the strengthening of industry partnerships, collaborations, and outreach initiatives, noting that better synergy between industries and academic institutions would play a pivotal role in connecting students with emerging technologies and career opportunities. Highlighting the need to fortify the alumni network, he remarked that the institute could scale new heights by leveraging the collective experience and support of its former students.
He urged the faculty to actively seek research grants from external agencies, foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration, and enhance the level of dialogue between teachers and students. Emphasizing the importance of regular classroom instruction, student interaction, and the adoption of an interdisciplinary approach, the Vice-Chancellor asserted that, in the contemporary era, a multidisciplinary understanding is precisely what will render technical education more effective.
UIET Director Prof. Vineet Singla provided the Vice-Chancellor with a comprehensive overview of the courses currently being conducted at the institute, its academic activities, and its future plans. During this event, UCCEE Director Prof. Yudhvir Singh, Controller of Examinations Prof. Rahul Rishi, Dr. Pradeep Gehlot, Dr. Vipin Saini, and Dr. Arun Hooda were present, along with other faculty members and research scholars.
