KMVites explore Rashtrapati Bhavan and New Delhi landmarks during Educational Tour

Jalandhar, September 15, 2026: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Department of Political Science jointly organised an immersive educational tour to Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, offering students an enriching journey through India’s constitutional framework, executive governance, and historical legacy. 
The experiential visit bridged theoretical concepts with real-world observation, deepening the participating students' practical understanding of democratic institutions and heritage conservation. A key highlight of the tour was the visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the iconic official residence of the President of India. The experience provided students with an in-depth exploration of the grand presidential estate, constitutional history, and presidential traditions. The students gained a profound appreciation for the institutional role of the Head of State, the democratic values represented by the executive branch, and the unique architectural grandeur of the complex. The delegation also visited the Vice President Estate, where they learned about executive governance, parliamentary functions, and administrative protocols shaping the nation's highest offices. Expanding their study to historical architecture and urban evolution, the students visited the Red Fort and the surrounding Chandni Chowk complex in Old Delhi. This portion of the trip allowed them to analyse Mughal architecture, historical conservation efforts, and the cultural landscape of the old city. The tour concluded with visits to India Gate and Kartavya Path, where the modernised public spaces further reinforced civic awareness and national pride among the participants. Overall, the collaborative educational initiative by the PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Department of Political Science proved to be a resounding success. 
Director Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that by combining constitutional insights from the heart of India's capital with historical exploration, the visit successfully broadened the students' academic perspectives, strengthened their civic understanding, and fostered a lasting appreciation for the country's democratic institutions. She also lauded the efforts of Dr Ashima Sahni, Head, Department of Political Science and Sehajpal Singh, Head, PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication and Vinakshi for successfully organising the educational visit.
