MDU Glows with the Light of Service and Sacrifice
Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Thursday organised the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ campaign under the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, with students, teachers and staff lighting lamps to promote service, social responsibility and positivity.
Rohtak, September 17, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) on Thursday organised the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ campaign under the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, with students, teachers and staff lighting lamps to promote service, social responsibility and positivity.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Punia and Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal led the campaign at Kranti Chowk, where they lit diyas and paid homage to the nation’s martyrs.
Prof. Punia said a spirit of service was vital for social and national development, adding that even small acts of service could bring meaningful change. Prof. Bansal said the campaign aimed to connect the university community, particularly youth, with social responsibilities and encourage a culture of service.
The event was attended by Sunita Chaudhary, wife of the Vice-Chancellor, and Rakhi Gupta Bansal, wife of the Registrar. Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Randeep Rana, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg, Prof. Sonu Dehmiwal, Dr Vipin Kumar and Dr Manoj Kumar were among those present.
University officials, faculty, non-teaching staff and students also participated, illuminating the campus with diyas and pledging to uphold the values of service, cooperation and sensitivity.
