Jalandhar, October 19, 2022: PG Dept. of Mathematics and PG Dept. of Computer Science and IT, Doaba College Jalandhar, organized DBT, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India sponsored M2@DCJ: MasterMinds@DCJ, Tech Fest Inter-School Tech Fest, around students from different schools participated in the event.

The Inaugural session began with the lighting of the auspicious knowledge lamp by Chief Guest Dr. Jai Inder Singh, SDM-I, Jalandhar, Dr. Pradeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College, Prof. KK Yadav, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof. Arvind Nanda, Dr. Rajiv Khosla, Program Directors, Prof. Naveen Joshi and Prof. Gulshan Sharma, Organizing Secretaries. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, Mr. Deepak, an alumnus, Doaba College, who has received the State Award of Education, Govt. of Punjab, and school principals were given a floral welcome.

In his Welcome address, Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal welcomed everyone and congratulated the students of various schools for their transition towards college. He informed about the different alumni who have gained prestigious positions in different fields of politics, sports etc. He also conveyed his best wishes to students of schools for their participation in various activities and Diwali.

A College tour was showcased through a video. In his Opening remarks, Prof. Naveen Joshi said that the objective of this event is to link Science and Mathematics with society. He further said that this event provides a common platform for students to develop their innovative ideas.

Followed by Ganesh Vandana, the Chief Guest, Dr. Jai Inder Singh, in his address, congratulated the students for their participation in this Tech Fest. He said that the development of scientific temper and humanism is a Constitutional duty. Everyone needs to develop scientific thinking and update oneself with the latest technology. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were then honoured with mementos.

The students participated in various events Sip and Shout (Paper Presentation), Paint your skills (Painting Using MS Paint), Waste Smart (Best out of Waste), Color Krazy (Poster Making), Art in Science (Pre- Prepared Poster), Frame your Innovations (Model Exhibition), Math Bowl (Extempore), Rangometry (Rangoli Competition), Explore the Web (Net Savvy), Expression with music (Choreography), Rock n' Roll (Group Dance), Fun with Science (Mathematical Skit), Best Science Teacher, Style of Penmanship (Writing), Essay Writing, On the Spot Camera Clicks (Photography), Fun Games: Temple Run, Get the Basket, Zero Kanta, Hands and Feet and Solo Dance. Overal 1st position grabbed by Govt Model Co-Education Junior School, Jalandhar.,1st runner-up was Jalandhar Model Sr Sec School and 2nd runner-up was DSSD boys sr sec school.The stage was conducted by Dr Shivika Dutta and Prof. Sakshi.
