Chandigarh, June 2, 2025: In a scathing attack on BJP MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang accused him of prioritizing personal gains over Punjab's welfare. Kang questioned Bittu on where BJP Punjab takes its directions from, pointing out that it is dictated by the party’s central leadership. He further slammed Bittu for his silence on critical issues concerning Punjab and alleged his complicity in BJP's policies that have consistently discriminated against the state.
Kang criticized Bittu for abandoning his family's century-old legacy in Congress to secure a Rajya Sabha seat from Rajasthan under the BJP’s patronage. “Bittu has traded Punjab’s interests for personal ambition, aligning with a party that has repeatedly wronged the state,” Kang stated.
He pointed out Bittu’s inaction on pressing issues like BJP's attempts to undermine Panjab University, the non-conduct of Senate elections, and the Central government’s failure to release Punjab's rightful funds. “When Punjab’s rights were attacked, when BJP blocked funding and stopped judicial appointments of Sikh judges, Bittu chose to remain silent,” Kang added.
Kang accused the BJP-led central government of discriminating against Punjab and said Bittu has been complicit in these injustices. “From farmer protests to youth employment and the High Court’s judicial appointments, Bittu has failed to stand for Punjab. His hypocrisy is evident when he claims to speak for the state while enjoying the BJP's privileges.”
The AAP leader also highlighted BJP’s central policies as anti-Punjab and accused Bittu of being an active participant in the betrayal. "The people of Punjab understand Bittu’s selfish motives and know he cannot be trusted to safeguard their rights," Kang concluded.
