Cheema, General Officer Commanding, visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Jalandhar for the annual inspection and later arrived at the CATC-40 Camp, currently being held at the CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus. Jalandhar, July 8, 2025: Major General J.S. Cheema, General Officer Commanding, visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Jalandhar for the annual inspection and later arrived at the CATC-40 Camp, currently being held at the CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus. Upon his arrival, he was presented with a Guard of Honour by the cadets, followed by Quarter Guard Saluting—a proud and ceremonial welcome moment.

The General Officer closely reviewed the ongoing camp activities, observed the section formation demo simulating an attack on enemy posts, and interacted with cadets, ANOs, and trainers. He appreciated the camp’s high standards of training, discipline, food, and logistical support.

Addressing the cadets in the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium, he commended their passion and spirit and honoured selected cadets, ANOs, and trainers who showed exemplary performance during this year’s NCC session.

Colonel Vinod Joshi, Camp Commandant, briefed Major General Cheema via a detailed video presentation on the ongoing schedule, training activities, and future roadmap. Colonel Joshi also highlighted unique sessions including a lecture by the SDRF team on disaster response and a live demo by the Fire Brigade educating cadets on managing uncontrollable fires.

The visit also included interactions with Caretaker Training Officers (CTOs) preparing for the PRCN course. In a special initiative for girl cadets, a gynaecologist delivered a session addressing health and hygiene concerns, ensuring holistic welfare during the camp.
As part of cultural and leadership enrichment, cadets took part in a turban-tying competition to promote Punjabi heritage, along with ongoing inter-company events in basketball, volleyball, and tug-of-war. The inter-company drill competition, the camp's grand finale, is currently in preparation and has generated palpable excitement among the cadets.

Following his inspection, Major General Cheema held a meeting with Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor, CT University & Chairman and Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group.

Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army and assured continuous institutional support for future NCC initiatives.

The visit concluded with a group photograph featuring military officials, the CT Group management, and the cadets — a moment symbolizing unity, pride, and partnership between the armed forces and the academic fraternity.
