Lyallpur Khalsa College Students Participate in One Race Marathon

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for its commitment towards the all-round development of its students as well as participation in social welfare programs. Keeping this intact, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, athletes and students of the college participated in the One Race Half Marathon organized by Capital Small Finance Bank on 7 December.

Jalandhar: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is known for its commitment towards the all-round development of its students as well as participation in social welfare programs. Keeping this intact, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, athletes and students of the college participated in the One Race Half Marathon organized by Capital Small Finance Bank on 7 December.

Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, in her message, appreciated the organizers and participants for hosting such a mega event. She added that youth participation in this half marathon themed ‘War Against Drugs’ conveys a significant message that the youth of Punjab is ready to take progressive steps towards a healthy society and nation building. She further said that such running events test the stamina and perseverance of the runners.

The race started at 6:40 am from Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and ended at the same spot after covering 21 kms.

NSS Program Officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that it was a collective effort of NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, athletes and physiotherapy students of the college to assist the organizers in the smooth conduct of the event. He added that NSS volunteers volunteered their services at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, NCC cadets assisted in route planning and traffic control, and physiotherapy students provided medical assistance to athletes.

During the event, the contingent of 100 LKC students was supervised by Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Simranjit Singh and Prof. Manvir Singh.
