Lyallpur Khalsa College Observes Vigilance Awareness Week
The Social Sensitization Cell and NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College, in collaboration with the Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar, observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, 2025, focusing on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
 
                        Jalandhar: The Social Sensitization Cell and NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College, in collaboration with the Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar, observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, 2025, focusing on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The event held on October 29 witnessed the presence of distinguished guests including Harpreet Singh Mander, SSP, Vigilance; Jasbir Singh, ADC Urban Development; Ashwani Kumar, DSP; and Parveen Abrol, noted social activist.
Welcoming the dignitaries, Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur urged students to uphold integrity and refrain from offering bribes, emphasizing that collective honesty is vital for eradicating corruption from society. In his address, ADC Jasbir Singh highlighted the need to make India corruption-free in every sphere, while SSP Mander shared his experiences and cited real-life cases illustrating how corruption undermines public trust. He reiterated that combating corruption is a shared responsibility.
Parveen Abrol discussed the various forms and causes of corruption and how they erode the moral fabric of society. The session concluded with all faculty members and students taking a solemn pledge to remain honest and never engage in corrupt practices.
A formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Balraj Kaur. The event was coordinated by Prof. Amita Shahid, Convener, Social Sensitization Cell, and Prof. Satpal Singh, Chief Programme Officer, NSS Unit. Dr. Suman Chopra (Head, History), Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu (Head, Commerce), Dr. Harjit Singh (Head, Mathematics), Dr. Ubique Bedi, Dr. Navjot Kaur, Prof. Manish Goel, and several other faculty members along with a large number of students were present on the occasion.
