A cycle rally for promoting cycling and healthy living being taken out in Ludhiana on Sunday.

Ludhiana, April 12, 2015:  Taking a positive note from prime minister Narendra Modi suggestion a day like Sunday should be promoted for cycling to save energy the residents of Manchester of India were all out to be part of Life cycle rally. It was not only cycle enthusiasts but the  17 different activities including cycling stunt, Yoga, meditation, Zumba stall, Aerobic, dance, School band bhangra performance  were there to enthrall audience.
If the corporate sector come forward more of events on fortnightly and monthly basis like Life Cycle", a cycle rally for promoting cycling and healthy living the administration will support it for good cause and it can be fortnightly or monthly event  said Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal.  Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and Municipal Corporation Commissioner GK Singh Dhaliwal flagged off the cycle rally. 
Ludhianvis become Hero with event "Life Cycle", a cycle rally for promoting cycling and healthy living organized hero cycles and District administration and executed by Sports 13. With the trend of high end bikes in and vintage bikes will be showcased the cycle rally started from Guru Nanak Dev Stadium.
The rally crossed Fountain Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, Aarti Chowk and reach MBD mall and returned from the same route covering the distance of 16 KM.  The residents brought their own cycle to participate in the rally.
Three categories were formed- Kids ride, Senior citizen and Armature ride for the participation in the cycle rally. The ten food stalls were established for the refreshment of the participations.
For the fun and fitness of the city residents the Ludhiana district administration with the support of Nongovernmental Organizations (NGO’s), Pedellers Club, Ludhiana Cares, schools, colleges, corporate organized "Life Cycle", a cycle rally for promoting cycling and healthy living.
Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal, Municipal corporation Commissioner  GK Singh and deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Naveen Singla informed that its a social event in which all city residents were invited. He said that cycling is a best exercise and all people should cycle daily because it not only keeps one fit, but also freshens the mind.
While briefing the security and traffic management Deputy Commissioner of Police Naveen Singla said Ludhiana Police esnured the participants get a smooth ride.
Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Commissioner G K Singh Dhaliwal, informed that the cycle track from which this cycle rally passed were repaired. He informed that very soon, a dedicated cycle track would also be constructed at Rakh Bagh, which is in the process of getting revamped. He informed that the Nehru Rose Garden in Civil Lines would also be beautified and developed by spending Rs 2 crore. He said that both the projects would be ready by Diwali.
Ranjodh Singh from Ludhiana Pedallers Club informed that the entire event was into different activities, such as cycle rally, cycle stunts, yoga, graffiti, art competition, Zumba Stall, Gatka, fancy dress competition, kite flying besides several others. He said that besides this food stalls would also be set up. The Deputy Commissioner urged all the city residents to take part in this four hour event in future. .
