Ludhiana (Rural) police arrest accused, recover arms and ammunition

Ludhiana, October 26, 2017: As per direction by Sh.Surjeet Singh, SSP Ludhiana (Rural), on October 25 a police party headed by Inspector Jarnail Singh CIA Incharge Jagraon under the supervision of Sh.Satnam Singh PPS, DSP (Inv) Ludhiana (Rural), was present at bus stand Bharrowal. He received a secret information that 8 persons including Baljinder Singh r/o Sukhana Tehsil Raikot, Jaskaran Singh @ Jassa r/o Pabbian PS Dakha, Jaskaran Singh r/o Morkarima PS Dakha, Ramandeep Singh @ Ramna r/o Sangatpura PS Sadar Jagraon, Gurpreet Singh @ Gopi r/o Morkarima PS Dakha, Harashjot Singh @ Harsh r/o Sohian PS Sadar Jagraon, Anmol Singh @ Kaler r/o Pabbian Polic Station Dakha, Amrik Singh r/o Sangatpura PS Sadar Jagraon carrying dangerous weapons have been planning for robbery. If raided immediately then they may be nabbed.
Following this, a case FIR number 349 dated 25-10-2017 under section 399, 402 of IPC and 25, 54, 59 of Arms Act has been registered at PS Sidhwan Bet. Thereafter raid has been conducted on the spot and five persons namely Baljinder Singh r/o Sukhana Tehsil Raikot, Jaskaran Singh @ Jassa r/o Pabbian PS Dakha, Jaskaran Singh r/o Morkarima PS Dakha, Ramandeep Singh @ Ramna r/o Sangatpura PS Sadar Jagraon and Gurpreet Singh @ Gopi r/o Morkarima PS Dakha were arrested from the spot near Gurdwara Jharhi Sahib Sawadi Kalan.
During raid, the police recovered 40 intoxicating tablets from Gurpreet Singh and registered a FIR under section 22-61-85 of NDPS Act at PS Sidhwan Bet in this regard. The police also recovered 50 intoxicating tablets from Ramandeep Singh and registered another FIR under section 22-61-85 of NDPS Act at Sidhwan Bet. The police also recovered 3 gram heroin from Jaskaran Singh and registered FIR under section 21-61-85 of NDPS Act at Sidhwan Bet. The police also recovered 12 bore country made pistol and two live cartridges from Jaskaran Singh and registered FIR under section 25-54-59 of Arms Act at PS Sidhwan Bet. The police also recovered a rifle 12 bore from the accused Baljinder Singh. During investigation, other 15 criminal cases registered at different police stations have been solved and more recoveries are likely to be made.
Apart from above, Rs.33000 have also been recovered from them for which FIR U/s 379 B IPC already existed at PS Sidhwan Bet.
The recoveries made from the accused were as under: One Riffle 12 Bore 02 live cartridges, One 12 bore pistol 02 live cartridges, Motor cycle-07, AC-04, LCD-08, CPU-06, Printer-06, Keyboard-05, UPS-01, Mobile-07 and one Swift car, Cash Rs.33000, 3 Gms Heiron, 90 intoxicating tablets, 01 Kirpan (sword), 01 iron rod and 01 Gandasi (sharp edged weapon).
