Jalandhar; October 31, 2025: Lovely Professional University (LPU) witnessed a historic moment in its sporting legacy as its Women's Kabaddi team was crowned the champion at the North Zone Inter-University Championship 2025-26. In a spectacular display of skill and teamwork, the team triumphed over 47 competing universities to bag the top spot and qualify for the All India Inter-University Championship.
Adding further glory to the victory, LPU’s Champa Thakur was honoured with the “Best Defender of the Tournament” award for her exceptional defensive prowess. Under the guidance of Coach Disha Thakur, the LPU team delivered a series of remarkable performances throughout the tournament, demonstrating strong defensive and offensive strategies that set them apart from their competitors. Their consistent efforts culminated in a historic win, bringing immense pride to the university and inspiring young athletes across campus.
