LPU Collaborated with HQ 11 Indian Army on High-Impact Defense Technology Innovations

Jalandhar, August 12, 2025:  In an incredible defense-academia collaboration, the Indian Army has honoured a team of students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) for delivering breakthrough innovations in advanced military technology. The recognition follows a high-impact partnership with HQ 11, where LPU’s young innovators worked alongside Army experts on mission-critical technology integration projects.
Lt. General Ajay Chandpuria felicitated the students in the presence of senior Army officials, as a gesture acknowledging not just their exceptional technical expertise but also their discipline, professionalism, and ability to translate academic brilliance into field-ready solutions of national importance.
Guided by LPU mentors Mandeep Singh and Ruhul Amin Choudhury students from the Department of Students’ Research and Projects including Manish Kumar, Bhanu Mahesh, Vana Praveen, Ashish Kumar Singh, Sarthak Gaira, Nikhlan J M, Pranav M P, Niranj S, Anirban Sarkar, and Salman Ali, developed advanced drones, VTOL systems, robotics, and automation technologies, all designed to enhance and optimize existing defense equipment and operational efficiency. Their solutions demonstrated not only technical finesse but also a deep understanding of real-world challenges faced by defense personnel.
Each innovation was strategically engineered to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen surveillance capabilities, and optimize the deployment of existing defense equipment in challenging terrains.
“This collaboration is not just a project, it is a statement of what India’s youth is capable of when guided by vision and purpose,” remarked Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU. “Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing our students apply their knowledge for the nation.
