KMV’s NCC Cadets shine in 10-day Civil Defence Training; Secure Top Honours

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) continues its commitment to fostering leadership and social responsibility as its NCC cadets successfully completed a rigorous 10-day Civil Defence Capacity Building Training Programme organised by the Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defence, Jalandhar (Government of India).

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) continues its commitment to fostering leadership and social responsibility as its NCC cadets successfully completed a rigorous 10-day Civil Defence Capacity Building Training Programme organised by the Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defence, Jalandhar (Government of India). 
Throughout the comprehensive training, the cadets actively engaged in acquiring vital life-saving and disaster-management skills, moving beyond theoretical knowledge to master practical, high-stakes rescue operations. The training curriculum encompassed essential modules including an Introduction to Civil Defence, Fire Fighting, First Aid, and specialised techniques such as Rope Knots and Lashing. Cadets received intensive hands-on instruction in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and FBAO (Foreign Body Airway Obstruction) management, alongside drills for Disaster Management, Emergency and Flood Rescue, and Rope-Based Rescue. The performance of the KMV NCC cadets was exemplary throughout the duration of the programme. Cadet Tammana Choudhary secured the First Prize, bringing immense laurels to the institution through her outstanding skill and dedication. Furthermore, in recognition of her sustained commitment to NCC activities and her role in empowering young women, Lt. Sufalica Kalia, Associate NCC Officer at KMV, was honored as the Guest of Honour by the Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defence department. This accolade reflects the high standard of mentorship provided at KMV to ensure our cadets emerge as confident future leaders of the nation. 
Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director KMV, lauded the initiative, emphasising that such capacity-building programmes are vital for holistic education. She noted that these experiences instill deep-rooted discipline and a sense of social responsibility, preparing students to be resilient pillars of society. Participants expressed immense satisfaction with the training, stating that it significantly enhanced their practical skills and decision-making abilities. The successful completion of this programme reflects the unwavering commitment of KMV towards building a safer, more prepared and resilient community.
