Third annual function “ek sawaal aur” celebrated in Horizon School of Excellence

“Ek Sawaal Aur” focussed on the importance of questioning skills in a student and the importance and role of teachers in providing and the importance of the human role in quenching the thirst for knowledge in children.
The Chief Guest for the function was Himanshu Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, and Jayant, a Class IV student of the school, was the Guest of Honour. The annual function was graced by Rakesh Bharti Mittal (Chairman), Bipin Gupta (Vice Chairman), trustees and members of the Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Gow Rakshni Sabha, and the School Advisory Council.
The annual function commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting, followed by Ek Sawaal, wherein the Chairman and Vice Chairman penned thought-provoking questions to spark the spirit of inquiry and higher thinking.
Himanshu Jain, in his address to the gathering, stressed the importance of planning and discipline in a student’s life. He reiterated his belief in a strong education system that can contribute to the growth of a society’s well-being and upliftment.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal emphasized the important role that education plays. Horizon School of Excellence will empower its students to become agents of change, capable of breaking barriers and pushing the boundaries and contributing towards building a Viksit Bharat.
After the presentation of the school’s third annual report by two staff members, the event "Lado and Angel" who took the audience through the journey of Ek Sawaal Aur. They beautifully captured the theme,where Evelyn of Class II played the role of a humanoid and Kanav the inquisitive young child.
The performances for the day began with the awe-inspiring, well-coordinated Robotic Techno Taal by the Grade IV students, followed by Himmat-e-Watan, showcasing the unwavering strength and glorious resilience of our Indian Defence Forces. Thereafter, the Pravesh Vatika students presented Sajda-e-Rang, a scintillating dance depicting the joy of Eid and the vibrance of Holi, creating a festive atmosphere. The Upvan students brought smiles to every face with their lively Circus Carnival. Grade I students then celebrated the spirit of Janmashtami through their charming presentation Janmashtami Jashn. Grade II students showcased a colourful song-and-dance performance portraying the vivacious state of Rangeela Rajasthan. Finally, the determination of Grade III students to overcome challenges was reflected in their dance — Main Hoon Champion! The event came to an end with a tempering of the state’s energetic Punjabi flavour as the Grand Finale by Grade 3 and 4 students: a colourful, foot-tapping and vibrant dance performance of Bhangra and the grand finale.
Principal, Jasdeep Kaur, proposed a Vote of Thanks to all the esteemed guests. The function concluded with the school song followed by the national anthem.The Annual Function served as a celebration of learning, curiosity, and collective effort. Through the theme of ‘EK SAWAAL AUR’, the school encouraged students to think, question, and grow with confidence.
