KMV’s International Faculty Development Program on Building Writing Skills enters into second day

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) international five-day Faculty Development Program on Building Writing Skills entered into the second day. Dr. Naeema Hann, Senior Consultant, Leeds Beckett University, UK participated as a resource person in this program. During her address, Dr. Naima, who has vast experience in various aspects related to education, explained in detail about developing writing skills through power point presentation, gave information about the subject, language & vocabulary etc. Apart from telling about the importance of choosing the right words as well as correct sentence structure, she also shared various innovative exercises with the participants so that they may be able to get hands on training in developing writing skills. She began her address by sharing a passage with the participants and asking various questions related to it. The second part of the session was dedicated to Academic Writing during which Dr. Hann acquainted everyone about the difference between academic writing and the other forms of writing. She shared a topic titled Higher Education should be available to everyone. She talked on the sentence structure of the writing and also explained various steps related to academic writing. Along with explaining the importance of proper use of grammar in any writing, she also answered various questions asked by the participants in a very simple manner. Principal extended her gratitude towards Dr. Naima for providing important information on the subject to the participants on the second day of the program. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English, Dr Shalini Gulati and Dr Reena Sharma for successfully organising the program.
