KMV’s Biotechnology Students Gain Hands-On Expertise Through Extensive Industrial Training
Students of the Department of Biotechnology at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) have successfully completed their industrial training, an integral part of their academic curriculum. The training was aimed at providing hands-on experience and practical insights into the real-world applications of biotechnology across clinical and industrial domains.

Jalandhar, August 18, 2025: Students of the Department of Biotechnology at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) have successfully completed their industrial training, an integral part of their academic curriculum. The training was aimed at providing hands-on experience and practical insights into the real-world applications of biotechnology across clinical and industrial domains.
During the program, students were placed at several renowned institutions and organizations. At Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar, they gained exposure to clinical diagnostics and hospital-based laboratory practices. Swiss Garnier Life Sciences provided training in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, and formulation processes. At ITC Limited, students explored food processing, packaging, and quality assurance techniques.
The experience was further enriched at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, where students engaged in advanced research on plant biotechnology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Training at Divine Medicare and Alpha Care Lab focused on clinical diagnostics, patient sample analysis, and lab report generation. At Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar, students learned about dairy processing, microbiological testing, and hygiene protocols in the food industry, while at Bharat X-Ray and Clinical Center, they observed radiological diagnostics and modern imaging technologies.
This wide-ranging industrial exposure not only enhanced the students’ technical proficiency but also strengthened their problem-solving skills and overall industry readiness.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students and faculty on the successful completion of the training. She praised the students’ dedication and highlighted the department’s continued efforts to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
