KMVites Gain Valuable Life-Saving Skills During CPR and First Aid Workshop

Jalandhar, October 15, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a highly informative workshop on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid. The session was jointly conducted by the Department of Student Welfare, Red Cross Society, Red Ribbon Club, and Eco-Club of KMV.
The event was inaugurated by Amaninder Kaur Brar, ADC, Jalandhar, along with Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Dr. Surjit Lal, marking the beginning of an inspiring and impactful awareness drive.
The workshop aimed to empower students with essential medical knowledge and hands-on training to effectively handle emergency situations. Dr. Ruchi and Dr. Ridhima from Unity Critical Care Multi-Speciality Hospital and Trauma Centre, Partap Bagh, Jalandhar, conducted the session with great expertise.
They educated students on various aspects of first aid and emphasized the importance of immediate medical response in critical conditions. The resource persons demonstrated correct techniques for measuring and managing blood pressure and performing CPR—a vital life-saving procedure used during cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. They also elaborated on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of electric shocks, along with practical demonstrations on how to respond safely and effectively.
Throughout the session, students actively participated and interacted with the experts, gaining valuable practical insights into real-life emergency scenarios. The workshop underscored the significance of awareness, preparedness, and presence of mind in saving lives before professional medical help arrives.
Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the collaborative efforts of all organizing units and lauded the trainers for sharing invaluable, life-saving knowledge. She noted that such workshops not only enhance students’ understanding but also instill a sense of social responsibility and compassion—values central to KMV’s holistic approach to education.
