KMVites excel in National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) 2026
Emerges as the State Topper in the Examination
Jalandhar, April 17, 2026: Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya continues to motivate its students to scale new academic heights, and in another significant achievement, two students from the PG Department of Physics have brought laurels to the institution with outstanding performance in the Indian Association of Physics Teachers National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) 2026. The prestigious national-level exam witnessed participation from 3,092 candidates across 151 centres in India, making it one of the most competitive platforms for undergraduate physics students.
Shruti Chandel from B.Sc. Non-Medical Semester II secured the distinction of being a state topper, placing among the top 1% of 209 candidates in Punjab. Another student, Ms. Tamanna from B.Sc. Computer Science Semester II, earned a position among the centre’s top 10 performers. Several other KMV students also delivered commendable performances, reflecting the institution’s strong academic culture and consistent efforts of both students and faculty.
Director Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the achievers and encouraged them to aim for national and international excellence. She highlighted the importance of such examinations in nurturing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and scientific temperament. She also appreciated the dedicated guidance of Neetu Verma, Head of the PG Department of Physics, and the faculty.
