KMV strengthens women empowerment with fresh batch of free Vocational Training Courses
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), under its strong commitment to women empowerment and community upliftment, has commenced a new batch of three-month Free Vocational Training Courses for rural women. The courses offered include Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, and Basic Computers, aimed at equipping women with employable skills and enhancing their self-reliance. KMV has been running these courses since 2008 and has empowered over 5000 women to date.
Jalandhar, December 12, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous), under its strong commitment to women empowerment and community upliftment, has commenced a new batch of three-month Free Vocational Training Courses for rural women. The courses offered include Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, and Basic Computers, aimed at equipping women with employable skills and enhancing their self-reliance. KMV has been running these courses since 2008 and has empowered over 5000 women to date.
The inaugural session began on an inspiring note as Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi personally interacted with the participants, motivating them to make the best use of the opportunity. She also highlighted KMV’s continuous efforts in promoting skill-based education and ensuring that women from rural backgrounds receive accessible and quality training.
The session was initiated by Dr. Monica Sharma, Dean, Social Outreach, who welcomed the trainees and introduced them to the objectives and structure of the programme. The initiative is part of KMV’s continuous social outreach programmes dedicated to spreading education, skill development, and empowerment across rural communities. The college continues to take pioneering steps to ensure holistic development and meaningful community engagement.
