Mohali, March 18, 2026: The Institute of Fashion & Communication Technology (IFCT) successfully hosted its much-anticipated IFCT Gala Runway 2026, a spectacular fashion showcase where creativity met conscience, as young fashion designers from the Final Year B.Sc. Programme at IFCT, used fashion as a medium to express a heartfelt prayer for world peace. The evening’s most celebrated moment came when the powerful collection ‘Black Swan’, inspired by the fragility and resilience of humanity, was awarded First Prize. The collection conveyed the message that even in times of darkness and conflict, humanity must rise with grace, compassion, and hope for peace.
Dr. Neha Miglani, Founder and Director of IFCT, said: "Fashion is not just about clothing; it is about storytelling and social consciousness. Through IFCT Gala Runway 2026, our students sent a powerful message that the youth of today believes in harmony, empathy, and world peace. I am immensely proud that every detail of this show was imagined and executed by our students."
The event brought together emerging designers, student models, choreographers, and creative teams from IFCT’s campuses in Mohali and Solan. The runway turned into a canvas of ideas where 15 outstanding design collections, created entirely by final-year students, were presented before an enthusiastic audience. A total of 65 students participated in the show, contributing through designing, modelling, choreography, styling, backstage production, and creative direction, making the event a true celebration of collaborative learning.
Final-year student Ravneet Kaur, one of the designers who showcased her collection, shared: "This show was more than a fashion presentation for us. Every stitch, every accessory, and every step on the ramp was our way of expressing hope for a peaceful world."
Another participating designer, Luxmi, added: "Working on the theme of world peace made us think deeply about the responsibility designers have. Fashion can inspire people and spark conversations about humanity and unity."
What made the show remarkable was that it was conceptualized, designed, and executed entirely by students. From the initial ideation to the final execution on the ramp; including costumes, masks, headgear, jewellery, styling, choreography, and stage presentation; every element reflected the passion, discipline, and imagination of IFCT students.
With the success of IFCT Gala Runway 2026, the institute once again demonstrated that young designers are not just shaping trends, they are shaping ideas that can inspire a better and more peaceful world.
Founded in 2023, IFCT has rapidly emerged as the first industry-led fashion school of the region.
