KMV organizes Commerce Mela- Students Endeavor

Jalandhar, October 12, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) has always been endeavoring to promote the overall development of the students. Besides the academic growth of the students, ceaseless efforts are made to inculcate entrepreneurial skills in them. In keeping with this trend, a Commerce Mela-Students Endeavour was organized by the PG Department of Commerce  & Business Administration. Students participated with the great zeal and exuberance in this event.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi inaugurated the mela and blessed all the students with her inspirational words. She emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial skills in current scenario where students need to supplement their classroom learning with requisite expertise in trade and business to scale the heights of success. The students put up various stalls of eatables in this event. Keeping in consideration the approaching festive days, the Retail Store of KMV came up with a wide variety of decorative items, nail art and attractive patterns of Mehandi which received an overwhelming response of the staff and the students. This event had another prime objective of serving the noble cause of helping the poorer section of the society. The profit earned from the stalls was deposited in Poor Students Fund which will be utilized for providing concessions and scholarships to the needy students. So the dual objectives of promoting holistic development of the students together with the welfare of the society were met by this venture.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr Neeraj Maini, Head, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for organizing such events and making the students learn skills to become financially independent. She averred that innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives at KMV will improve the key competence of entrepreneurship and will lead to more innovative behaviour among students and faculty.
