KMV organises webinar on Life of Lala Lajpat Rai and his contribution in Indian Freedom Struggle

Jalandhar, April 2, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a webinar on the life of Lala Lajpat Rai and his contribution in the Indian freedom struggle. 

The webinar was organised by Department of History.  The resource person for the webinar was Prof. Amandeep Bal, Chairperson, Jallianwala Bagh Chair, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Dr Bal gave valuable information and shared important facts from her research. She commenced her lecture with the family background of Lala Lajpat Rai, progressing which, she plainly narrated his thoughts and beliefs which shaped his actions throughout his life. She laid emphasis on the role and evolution of National College, Lahore and Dwarkadas library in the Indian freedom struggle. She even unfolded the reaction of other freedom fighters on the bad treatment meted out to Lala Lajpat Rai during the visit of Simon commission to India. 

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such type of webinars keep the students connected with their history. She further maintained that KMV has always remained in the vanguard of the Indian freedom struggle and is still continuously working towards the empowerment of its student. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr Gurjot, Head, Department of History for successfully organising the webinar.
