Jalandhar, May 12, 2016: At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar a series of 100 Vedic lectures was organized. The lectures were sponsored by Maharishi Sandipni National Ved Vidya Pratishthan. The long series of lectures materialized into reality due to complete co-operation by all faculties of the vidyalaya. Students and faculty of all the three languages faculty i.e. Sanskrit, English, Hindi alongwith Economics Philosophy, History Hons., Political Science, Commerce, Fine Arts, Music (V), Music (I), Physics, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Maths, Computer, Psychology voluntarily participated in the same. The resource persons for the same were Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma, Principal K.M.V., Jalandhar, Dr. Udyan Arya, Principal, Guru Virjanand Memorial College, Kartarpur, Dr. Shivdutt Pandya, Principal, Ved Vidang Vidyarthi, Gurukul Ashram Sultanpur, U.P., Prof. Ashutosh Adigras, Head, Dept. of Sanskrit, S.D. College, Ambala Cantt., Dr. Priyush Aggarwal, Chandigarh, Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Patiala and many more from across the Prominent premier institutions of northern region of India. The Gamuet of their topics range and their variety went beyond the imagination of the organisers. The techniques of Upnishads, Bhagvat Geeta and Ramayan alongwith the Markandya Purana & Vedas were linked by teachers of different faculties to present day relevance of Vedas to their subject directly. Relevance of Vedic teachings for upliftment of Humanity, World Peace, World Brotherhood, Vedic literature and Human Rights, Jaydevas (Geet-Govind) Tagore: The representative of Indian Culture were some other relevant topics. In addition Head, Dept. of Mathematics Mrs. Veena Deepak, Dr. Madhumeet, Ms. Reena Tandon, Mrs. Anand Prabha, Mrs. Reena Sharma also spoke to pertinent topics related to Vedas.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi said that such programmes were important to preserve, protect and spread Indian culture, It was important for students to recognize Vedas an important source of knowledge on diverse topics and as a way of life and daily interaction. She thanked the sponsors from Maharishi Sandipni National Ved Vidya Pratishthan Ujjain and wished that such events would be organized in the future as well.
