Pune, October 20, 2018: India’s sport of Kabaddi has grown leaps and bounds with the growth of India’s flagship Kabaddi league, VIVO Pro Kabaddi. Encouraging the growth of the sport amongst the younger generation, Star Sports has begun the second season of KBD Juniors - an inter-school Kabaddi championship. School kids from Pune got an opportunity to meet one of their favourite star Bajrang Damolia, from Puneri Paltan at Dr.D.Y.Patil Public School in Pimpri Chinchwad.

As Bajrang entered the school, kabaddi fans were enthralled and during the meet and greet, curious kids had several questions for Bajrang about the sport. Educating the school children on the sport, Bajrang also played a match with them.

Commenting on the occasion, Bajrang Damolia said, “It was indeed a privilege for me to meet these young Kabaddi players. It was endearing to interact with them and realise that they share the same love for Kabaddi, like all of us at Puneri Paltan. I was happy to see the passion and dedication these young athletes displayed for the game. Looking at this, I strongly believe that Kabaddi has a bright future in the country.”

Eight city schools will test their grit against each other at Balewadi Stadium, to enter the round of city finals.

Match 1: JP Trust’s Vidya Niketan vs The Bishop’s School Camp

Match 2: Pawar Public School vs D Y Patil Public School

Match 3: Pune Police Public School vs Pandit Rao Agashe
