ISWAI Brings Its ‘Never Drink and Drive’ Campaign to Chandigarh
Reinforces Its Commitment To ‘Responsible Drinking’
Chandigarh, December 20, 2025: The International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI), a leading voice for the Indian Premium Alcoholic Beverage Industry and a strong proponent of responsible consumption, has announced the rollout of its ‘Never Drink and Drive’ (NDAD) campaign in Chandigarh, following the successful launch of the initiative in Lucknow earlier this year.
With one of the highest vehicle-to-population ratios in the country and substantial daily interstate traffic from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh, it requires a strong and sustained focus on road safety. This makes the city a crucial location for reinforcing the ‘Never Drink and Drive’ message. This initiative by ISWAI underscores the urgent need for creating awareness, educating people, and bringing a behavioural change, to address public safety concerns.
Speaking on the Chandigarh launch and expansion of the campaign, Sanjit Padhi, CEO, ISWAI, said, “At ISWAI, we invest in public education, promoting moderation and responsible alcohol consumption. The ‘Never Drink and Drive’ campaign reinforces our commitment to fostering a responsible drinking culture, enhancing public awareness on road safety, and ultimately protecting precious lives.”
Adding to this, Parvinder Singh, Regional Director, ISWAI, said, “Chandigarh places a strong emphasis on road discipline, and our campaign aligns with the city’s efforts by using media to promote mindful drinking and reinforce that drinking and driving must never mix. The ‘Never Drink and Drive’ campaign seeks to educate citizens on the dangers of drunk driving, encourage responsible road behaviour, and underscore that driving under the influence is both illegal and life-threatening. ISWAI remains committed to strengthening public safety, particularly during the festive season when socialising is at its peak.”
To strengthen the outreach, ISWAI is amplifying its social messaging through radio stations during peak listening hours, particularly during Christmas and the year-end festive period. Dedicated radio spots and RJ mentions will reinforce the core message of responsible celebration and zero tolerance for drunk driving. Additionally, a digital campaign is being rolled out to ensure continuous visibility and reinforce the message of responsible celebration.
ISWAI emphasises the importance of moderation and reiterates that driving after consuming any form of alcohol must always be avoided. Many people mistakenly believe that certain beverages considered ‘mild’ are safe to consume anytime. ISWAI cautions that no alcoholic beverage is inherently ‘mild’ or ‘hard’; alcohol in any form can impair driving ability.
