International Earth Day celebrated in PU’s Sanskrit Department

Panjab University’s Sanskrit department celebrated International Earth Day today. Prof. V. K. Alankar said that humans have a tendency to transgress and that responsible behaviour is of utmost importance. “Our ancient sages asked us to view Earth as our mother, and the one who misbehaves with their mother, is not respected in our culture”, Prof. said.

International Earth Day celebrated in PU’s Sanskrit Department

Chandigarh, April 22, 2024: Panjab University’s Sanskrit department celebrated International Earth Day today. Prof. V. K. Alankar said that humans have a tendency to transgress and that responsible behaviour is of utmost importance. “Our ancient sages asked us to view Earth as our mother, and the one who misbehaves with their mother, is not respected in our culture”, Prof. said.

He urged everyone to do whatever is possible for the protection of our country and Earth as a whole.

Faculty members Dr. Vijay Bharadwaj and Dr. Satyan Sharma talked about Indian culture and our active participation for the protection of Earth.

On this occasion, research scholars and students of the department presented short speeches and recited poems speaking about Earth and our responsibility toward it. The event was attended by the teachers, research scholars and students of the department and Dayanand Chair for Vedic Studies, PU.
