In the wake of recent incident that took place in Chandigarh University Girls Hostel, Panjab University Girls Hostel Nos 8, 9, 10 & International hostel, organised an interactive session on “Awareness about Privacy in Guarded Spaces: A discussion in context of Maintaining Privacy in Girls Hostels”.

Chandigarh, September 24, 2022: In the wake of recent incident that took place in Chandigarh University Girls Hostel, Panjab University Girls Hostel Nos 8, 9, 10 & International hostel, organised an interactive session on “Awareness about Privacy in Guarded Spaces: A discussion in context of Maintaining Privacy in Girls Hostels”. 

This incident was a blatant breach of privacy of a number of female residents of the hostel. Sakshi Arora, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Laws, spoke about privacy issues in the digital world. In her interaction with the residents she also cautioned the girls to be responsible for their own conduct and not share their personal pictures on social media. 

Dr. Simran Kaur, warden GH 8, Dr. Shipra Gupta, warden Girls Hostel no. 9, Dr. Varinder Kaur, warden GH 10 and Dr. Ravinder Kaur, warden, International Hostel also interacted with the residents and advised the residents to be cautious and vigilant inside and outside the hostel.
