Talwandi Sabo, October 12, 2015: Guru Gobind Singh College of Engineering & Technology of Guru Kashi University organised an Industrial Visit for B.Tech Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Communications students. During this, students visited Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd., Banawala 2000 MW thermal power plant. Purpose of this visit was to familiarize the Engineering students with operations and maintenance of a power plant and also corporate environment and working of industrial organizations. Dr. Vishal Manager CSR and Mr. Chetan Srivastva Head O&M accompanied the students during their visit to various sections and were given detailed presentation about the working by the authorities of TSPL. Students were also briefed about generation of electricity from coal which is then supplied to the grid. It was a successful visit and this exposure will help students in their further studies.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Dr. G.S. Brar Dy. Dean GGSCET and Mr. Arashdeep Singh Sekhon TPO for undertaking the visit and motivated them to regularly arrange such programmes enhancing skills of students.
S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, Managing Director lauded the efforts by the GGSCET & said such industrial visits develop corporate attitude among the students and also help them to collect rich practical information about the related industries.
