Jalandhar, November 10, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) continues to lead in providing experiential and industry-integrated learning opportunities. Under the autonomy system, KMV has consistently upgraded and revised its syllabi to include industrial training and professional exposure as essential components of its curriculum.
In a recent initiative, a group of MBA, MCA, Commerce, and Physics students visited Gold Plus Float Glass Industry, Roorkee, for a two-day educational and industrial exposure tour. The entire visit, including accommodation, was fully sponsored by the industry, a testament to KMV’s strong collaboration with the All India Glass Industry.
During the visit, students gained firsthand insight into the complete process of glass manufacturing — from raw material processing in furnaces to the final packaging of products. They observed the precision and advanced technology involved in producing float glass and frosted glass, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices.
The visit offered multi-dimensional learning: Physics students explored the material science and optical properties of glass, while MBA students studied the management, logistics, and marketing aspects of a large-scale industrial setup.
The group was warmly welcomed by Sheetal Khanna, General Manager (Marketing), who elaborated on the diverse applications of glass in construction, automotive, and energy-efficient technologies. Students also gained valuable knowledge about tempered glass, laminated glass, and insulating glass units (IGUs)—key components in modern architecture and industry.
Her insightful interaction left the students inspired and enriched, deepening their understanding of technological innovation within the glass industry.
Through such initiatives, KMV continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence, innovation, and holistic student development, preparing young women to emerge as confident leaders in science, technology, and business.
