The inaugural function of Teja Singh Hall (Boys Hostel No. 6) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, was held with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and university officials. The event also featured the hostel’s Fresher’s Party, marking a warm welcome to the new and current residents for the academic session 2025–26.

Chandigarh, October 16, 2025: The inaugural function of Teja Singh Hall (Boys Hostel No. 6) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, was held with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and university officials. The event also featured the hostel’s Fresher’s Party, marking a warm welcome to the new and current residents for the academic session 2025–26.
The event was presided over by Dr. Amit Chauhan, Dean Student Welfare, who inaugurated the hostel and addressed the gathering. In his inspiring speech, Dr. Chauhan highlighted the University’s continuous commitment to student welfare, residential comfort, and the holistic development of students. He emphasised that hostel life is a vital part of university education — one that fosters discipline, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.
Prof. Bharat, Dean, Information and Public Relations, and Professor, University Institute of Legal Studies, graced the event as the Guest of Honor. In his address, he appreciated the dynamic participation of students and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities that hostel life offers. He also underscored the importance of maintaining mutual respect, cooperation, and a spirit of togetherness among residents.
The event was attended by Dr. Anuj Kumar, Warden of Teja Singh Hall, and Mr. Kamal Dutt, Office Incharge, along with Deans, faculty members, and hostel residents. Dr. Anuj Kumar, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the University administration for their consistent support and guidance. He assured that the hostel administration would continue to uphold the values of discipline, unity, and academic excellence.
The programme featured vibrant cultural performances by hostel residents, adding colour and liveliness to the evening. Special recognition was given to the hostel secretaries — Baldev Singh, Sarabjeet Singh, Abhinav, Prince, Sahil Sharma, Prabhdeep, Piyush Shrivastva, Mhir Dilip, Rudra Singh, and Nitin — with the help of — Omkar Saini, Ramashish Kondal, Karan Pathania, and Narender — for their commendable efforts in coordinating and managing the event successfully. Their teamwork and dedication contributed significantly to making the inaugural ceremony and freshers’ celebration a memorable success.
Following the formal programme, a lunch was organized for both students and guests, providing an opportunity for informal interaction and camaraderie among residents, faculty, and officials. The shared meal served as a gesture of hospitality and community spirit, symbolizing the warmth and inclusivity of hostel life at Panjab University.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments, marking a delightful and memorable beginning to the new academic session.
