Jalandhar, June 18, 2015: Considering counseling an important matter, I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University has finally released its B.Tech web counseling schedule for Academic Session 2015-16. This counseling will be a joint session of four universities namely Punjabi University, Patiala; Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; IKG-PTU Jalandhar and Maharaja Ranjit Singh State Technical University, Bathinda.
The schedule has been released on University’s website. According to the schedule released by Dean Academics, fee deposition has already been started from June 1, 2015 and will be continued till July 7, 2015. Dr. Buta S Sidhu, Dean Academics said, “After declaring the result of JEE (Main) which is expected to be declared in first week of July, the registration will start from July 9, 2015 to July 12, 2015. The choice filling will start simultaneously and the result of first round counseling will be declared on July 14, 2015. Those students who have got seats as per their choice will report to the allotted institutions from July 14-17, 2015.”
He further informed that the counseling fee deposit of second round of counseling will begin from July 10, 2015, only for those candidates who haven’t deposited the requisite fees in the first round. Those who have already submitted the fees may also register for second round of counseling. Fee deposition will be continued till July 17, 2015. The registration and choice filling will start from July 18- 20, 2015. The result of second round will be declared on July 22, 2015. Those students who have got seats as per their choice will report to the allotted institutions from July 23- 27, 2015.
Appealing to the students to take part in the counseling seriously IAS Rakesh Verma, officiating Vice-Chancellor (additional charge) of IKG-PTU and Secretary, Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training said, “Like always, the Punjab Government has given the counseling responsibility to IKG-PTU. Joint counseling is the only way to provide the better choice to the deserving students. I appeal to the students to grab this opportunity and take full benefit of counseling. After counseling only, the open (merit) admissions will be done by respective colleges.”
