HYSEA hosts 29th edition of its Prestigious Annual Innovation Summit and Awards 2021 jointly with STPI-Hyderabad 

Hyderabad, December 16, 2021: HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) organized today the 29th edition of its prestigious Annual Innovation Summit & Awards 2021. The summit was held on 16th Dec 2021 at HICC (Hall-3) featuring - Conference, Product Expo and Annual Industry Awards. The theme for this year’s summit event was ‘Digital Convergence: Touching Lives and Businesses’. The summit explored how ‘digital’ is powering growth of industry by impacting various sectors and at the same time touching our lives. HYSEA and STPI jointly organize this annual event each year. 

The key focus was on how multiple technologies are converging to impact different verticals and business models, Emerging Technologies Use Cases and How Digital is impacting Governance and Public Life. 

HYSEA Innovation Summit is one of the most prestigious industry events in the city and has for more than two decades showcased the city’s vibrant culture of innovation, booming start-up industry and conducive business ecosystem. This year more than 30+ startup finalists showcased their products and competed for awards in 6 different categories viz., Emerging product, Fast growing enterprise product, Fast growing consumer product, established product, Product with social impact, and Product led by women.  Additionally, Hyderabad’s Hot 10 startups for this year were also chosen by HYSEA. 

500+ delegates, including more than 200 IT Industry leaders, attended the event, which featured keynotes and panel discussions by leaders from IT majors and emerging start-ups.

As a finale, in a glittering awards function in the evening, awards were given away to Honour the IT/ITES companies and the start-ups for their major achievements in Exports, Productivity, and Product development. Mr. NG Subramaniam, COO & ED of TCS, was the distinguished guest for the evening. 

Mr. Bharani K Aroll, President, HYSEA said while welcoming the participants, “Well, I am delighted to share that we had a great morning session filled with exceptional speakers deliberating on very important topics very aligned with the Theme ‘Digital Convergence - Touching Lives and Businesses’. We had a record 1300 Plus registrations. The Product expo had many participating companies and had a great exchange with delegates.  My sincere gratitude to the organizing team who worked tirelessly last few weeks on all aspects to host this conference seamlessly and thus elevating this event at par with any international event.” He also shared that this marquee event brings together every year majority of the city’s innovation eco-system consisting of We-Hub, T-Hub, TiE, TSIC, Hyderabad Angels and IIIT-H.

Mr. CVD Ram Prasad, Director, STPI, Hyderabad said, “HYSEA Annual Summit and Awards event symbolizes the celebration of the achievements of the vibrant IT Industry and emerging start-up ecosystem in Hyderabad. Despite the pandemic, the IT sector in Telangana has recorded double digit growth and maintained the growth rate ahead of the same w.r.t national figures. There has been significant growth of IT exports and a sustained addition of employment in this sector during last Financial Year”. STPI, he said is happy to support this event and encouraged by the wide participation. 

Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary speaking at the awards function commended HYSEA’s role in preventing layoffs during the first wave of Pandemic. He also said HYSEA job fair was important initiative and highly beneficial for the small and medium enterprises. He also shared that Govt is considering constituting ten consortiums in the areas like cybersecurity, SAS, Animation and Gaming Services, AI/ML, BFSI and some more to promote growth of the industry in these sectors. 

Speaking on the occasion Mr. N G Subramaniam, COO & ED, talked about ‘The IT Industry - New Ways, New Answers’.  He said Hyderabad city attracts best minds and best talent and it has always taken lead in Product Development, R&D, and soon IPs in these areas will be created. Speaking about the pandemic, he said, industry and the govt rose to the occasion to support the society and several campuses turned into isolation centers, Oxygen plants were setup and ICU beds were setup.
He also spoke about the future growth areas for the IT Industry and said, Cloud Adoption and cloud transformation, Algorithm and intelligent optimization, AI/ML would be significant growth area. Summing up he said, “design and empathy are for humans and rest is for algorithms”. 

Mr. J. A. Chowdary, Chairman of Indian Blockchain Standards Committee and Founding Member of Succeed Innovation Fund and former President of HYSEA was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
As the founding member of STPI, Hyderabad Mr. Chowdary worked tirelessly beyond the call of duty, to attract multinational companies, top talent and investments to the city. He was instrumental in working with the Government of combined Andhra Pradesh & Government of India in architecting & building a conducive ecosystem that brought IT investments to Hyderabad during the early years of the ‘Hyderabad to Cyberabad’ transformation.
