HSF-India - Scientific Computing Workshop at Physics Department, PU Chandigarh
Panjab University, Chandigarh is hosting a five day High energy Software Foundation (HSF)-India - Scientific Computing Workshop at Physics Department which will conclude on September 19, 2025. HSF is funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), USA. CREST (UT), ANRF-DST, GoI have given financial support to hold this workshop.

Chandigarh, Sep 16, 2025: Panjab University, Chandigarh is hosting a five day High energy Software Foundation (HSF)-India - Scientific Computing Workshop at Physics Department which will conclude on September 19, 2025. HSF is funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), USA. CREST (UT), ANRF-DST, GoI have given financial support to hold this workshop.
Addressing the program, Dr. David of Princeton University, USA informed about the details of the workshop. Dr. David is accompanied by Dr. Peter, Dr. Henry Schreiner, Dr. Liv Helen, also from Princeton,Prof. Gordon (U. Washington), Dr. Brij Kishor (RAL, UK) Prof. Verena Martinez(UM, Amherst), Prof. Joseph (U. Pitt.) and Dr. Nicolas (Fermilab).
Making the opening remarks, Dean of International Students, Prof. Kewal Krishan, motivated more than forty participants from all over India. He gave examples of his own work on using the AI tools and emphasised on learning such new tools and build applications.
Earlier, the local coordinator Prof. Vipin Bhatnagar and Dr. Sunil welcomed the expert mentors from the USA, UK and the participating PhD, MSc, BTech students.
Prof. S. K. Tripathi, Chairperson of the Physics department, informed about the legacy and the present achievements of the department. He informed the audience about the three PG Diplomas being started by the department besides the regular BSc, MSc, PhD courses.
The event is following the guidelines suggested by the PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig to promote new skills and establish new connections with the international experts for imparting the same.
