HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan urges Students to Read, Understand, and Implement the ideas of great personalities in their lives
Asandh, January 23, 2026: Occasions like Parakram Diwas, Vasant Panchami, and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Jayanti are not merely days of remembrance for us, but inspiring days to incorporate the values associated with the nation, society, and culture into our lives. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's valor, the knowledge and cultural values of Vasant Panchami, and Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram's social justice – all three together constitute the soul of India. These views were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), Nilokheri. He was addressing the students and teachers as the chief guest at a seminar organized at the Hartron Center in Asandh.
Dr. Chauhan said that the courageous path chosen by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose for independence inspires today's youth to work fearlessly in the national interest. Vasant Panchami, on the other hand, is a celebration of the Indian knowledge tradition, which considers education not merely a means of employment but a means of character building.
Describing Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram as a true benefactor of farmers, laborers, and underprivileged sections of society, Dr. Chauhan said that it is because of his struggles that rural society today has gained respect and a voice for its rights. The HIRD Director urged the students to read, understand, and implement the ideas of these great personalities in their lives.
Presiding over the program, Center Director Ram Roop Sharma said that such events develop a sense of national consciousness, social awareness, and cultural pride among the students. As a special guest, senior advocate and former president of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Narendra Sharma, said that Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram's life is a living school of social reforms, and his ideas are still relevant today. He urged the youth to understand the constitution, their duties, and social harmony.
Present on the occasion were advocate Narendra Sharma, Krishna, teachers Geeta Devi, Payal, Shubham, Sonam, Pallavi, along with other teachers, students, and dignitaries. A question-and-answer session was held at the end, in which the students participated enthusiastically.
