Harvest International School, Jassowal, organized the 8th Annual Athletics Meet on 24, 25 and 26 of November 2022 in ‘Harvest Greens,’ for students from pre- primary, primary, middle and senior school respectively.

Ludhiana, November 29, 2022: Harvest International School, Jassowal, organized the 8th Annual Athletics Meet on 24, 25 and 26 of November 2022 in ‘Harvest Greens,’ for students from pre- primary, primary, middle and senior school respectively.


The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Vice President of the school Gurdeep Singh, DIGP (Retd), Principal Jay Sharma and Vice Principal Puja Chandpuri.


The three days were pervaded with zeal and a display of talents as students from Air House, Earth House, Fire House and Water House endeavored to compete in the true spirit of sportsmanship.


The March Past was followed by lighting the ‘Torch’ and oath taking. The Vice President Gurdeep Singh addressed the students and motivated them to strive to achieve greater heights of success. He also mentioned that the prolonged fear of the Covid-19 pandemic could not extinguish the fire of sports in the enthusiastic athletes and these were their glorious moments to shine afresh in the true sportsman spirit. The Principal Jay Sharma also encouraged the participants to perform to the best of their abilities.


The students of all grades showcased magnificent and spectacular demonstrations of ‘yoga, martial arts, aerobics and mass PT. The young Harvestians of pre-primary actively participated in fun races, wriggly-wiggly race, yoga, aerobics, umbrella PT, dancing with the parachute and aerobics. Students from the primary grades participated in mass PT, aerobics, yoga demonstration and fun races.


The middle and senior grades enthusiastically and eagerly competed in relay races, sprint events of 100, 200 and 400 meters, middle distance races which were 800 meters for girls and 1500 meters for boys. The long jump was organized for all categories, however, the high jump, shot put and discus throw were for senior students. All winners were awarded certificates and medals. Parents and staff participated in races thereby displaying their stamina and agility.

The star attraction and climax of the Meet was the ‘Ultra Fitness Event’, a test which included all the fitness components to measure strength, endurance, power and speed. The participants were senior students who energetically and enthusiastically endeavored to be the first and fastest to complete the given assignments.

Water House won the overall 8th Annual Athletics Meet Championship Trophy and Earth House won the Trophy for the best performance in March Past.

To culminate the Meet, the Vice President Gurdeep Singh thanked everyone for their presence, cooperation and support and congratulated the students for their exceptional performance and team spirit. He concluded the Annual Athletics Meet 2022 by declaring it closed.
