GNPS Wins GS Banga Memorial Cricket Tournament Title
In the final match of the Late Sardar GS Banga T-20 Memorial Tournament, held at the Sector-16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, GNPS delivered a stellar performance to defeat the Panchkula Strikers by 14 runs and claim the championship title. Former IAS officer Vishwajit Khanna felicitated the participating teams.
Chandigarh, April 14, 2026: In the final match of the Late Sardar GS Banga T-20 Memorial Tournament, held at the Sector-16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, GNPS delivered a stellar performance to defeat the Panchkula Strikers by 14 runs and claim the championship title. Former IAS officer Vishwajit Khanna felicitated the participating teams.
Winning the toss in the final and electing to bat first, the GNPS team posted a total of 134 runs for the loss of 9 wickets within the allotted 20 overs. For the team, Naitik Dhall played a crucial innings of 44 runs, while Adil Rana contributed 40 runs and Naitik Sharma added 23 runs to the total. Yogwinder Singh, Ayush Kaushal, and Rishabh Tiwari claimed 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, the Panchkula Strikers could only manage to score 120 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Shuchendra Vikram Singh played a brisk innings of 40 runs for the team, but the other batsmen were unable to forge significant partnerships.
For GNPS, Yuvraj Pathania delivered a magnificent performance, taking 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs, while Yogwinder Singh and Ayush Kaushal secured 2 wickets each.
With this victory, GNPS clinched the trophy, maintaining their excellent form throughout the entire tournament. The final match proved to be a thrilling contest, offering the spectators a display of magnificent cricket. The team remained undefeated, not losing a single match throughout the tournament.
