GGNIMT Hosts Tech BIP–Empresario: Technology Business Idea Pitch Competition in Collaboration with EDII Ahmedabad
Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, successfully organised Tech BIP–Empresario: Technology Business Idea Pitch Competition.
Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi, Ludhiana, in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, successfully organised Tech BIP–Empresario: Technology Business Idea Pitch Competition.
The initiative is the brainchild of Prof. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Professor and Director, Department of Entrepreneurship Education, EDII Ahmedabad, and Prof. Etinder Pal Singh from the same institute, who conceptualised and launched this programme at the Pan-India level to promote technology-driven entrepreneurship among youth. As part of this national initiative, the Punjab Chapter was hosted at GGNIMT, with further editions planned across India in the coming months.
The competition witnessed participation from more than 35 teams representing Punjab and Chandigarh, who presented innovative and technology-based business ideas. Each team delivered a 5-minute pitch followed by a 2-minute question-and-answer round, encouraging clarity of thought, feasibility, scalability, and innovation.
The programme commenced with a formal inaugural session graced by the Chief Guest, Harsharan Singh Narula, Honorary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Society (GKES). Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the collaborative initiative with EDII Ahmedabad and emphasised that platforms like Tech BIP–Empresario provide young innovators the confidence to transform ideas into impactful enterprises. He encouraged students to think beyond conventional career paths and contribute to India’s growing startup ecosystem.
Dr. S. P. Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC) and former Vice Chancellor of GNDU, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT, highlighted the objectives and significance of the event. The jury panel was introduced by Prof. Priya Arora, Department of Business Management, and the competition guidelines were briefed by Dr. Harminder Kaur. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT & GGNIVS.
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Deepjyot Singh Sethi, Managing Director, Velbond Industries LLP and Founder, Velbond Biopharma Pvt. Ltd.; Sahil Aggarwal, Director, Amar Wheels Pvt. Ltd. and Past Chairman, Ludhiana Round Table; and Gagandeep Singh, Director, Weltech Group of Companies and Chair, Young Business Leader Forum.
The tech pitch presentations were conducted in two sessions, followed by a valedictory session featuring jury feedback, prize distribution, and certificate presentation. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks and closure by Prof. Satinderjit Singh, Head and Coordinator, Institution Innovation Council (IIC).
The successful organisation of Tech BIP–Empresario at GGNIMT reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and strengthening EDII Ahmedabad’s vision of building a robust startup and innovation ecosystem across the country.
