Mumbai (anil bedag) : Cancer treatment in Navi Mumbai has entered a transformative phase with Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai launching its Precision Oncology Clinic. The initiative introduces genomics-based personalized cancer care, tailoring treatment plans according to a patient’s genomic profile, biomarker subtype, age, lifestyle factors, comorbidities, and individual treatment goals.
Dr. Jyoti Bajpai, Lead Consultant – Medical & Precision Oncology, said, “Genomics not only identifies the type of cancer a patient has but also reveals its specific subtype. For instance, breast cancer may be Luminal A, Luminal B, Triple-Negative, or HER2-positive, and each behaves differently and responds uniquely to therapy. Precision oncology enables us to select the right drug, at the right dose, for the right patient.”
Arunesh Punetha, Regional CEO – Western Region, added, “We are moving beyond the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Every patient will now receive care aligned with their biology, profession, preferences, and life circumstances.”
