Fulbright Visiting Expert at Panjab University
Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University and office of Dean, International, under the stewardship of Prof. Akshaya Kumar and Prof. Deepti Gupta, respectively, hosted Prof. John Shanahan, Associate Dean and Professor of English, Director of Liberal Studies at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, USA under the Fulbright Program from August 22 to September 2, 2022.

Chandigarh, August 29, 2022: Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University and office of Dean, International, under the stewardship of Prof. Akshaya Kumar and Prof. Deepti Gupta, respectively, hosted Prof. John Shanahan, Associate Dean and Professor of English, Director of Liberal Studies at DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois, USA under the Fulbright Program from August 22 to September 2, 2022.
Prof. John apart from delivering lectures at the Department on Reading Cultures, Digital Humanities and Instructional Tools across the varsity also familiarised the students and scholars with various digital tool repositories on text analysis and data mining. During his two-week stay at the university as a Fulbright Visiting Expert, he delivered guest lectures at some local institutions as well.
While interacting with the faculty and research Scholars at the Department of English and Cultural Studies, he dwelt extensively on how the digital tools available for use in the digital humanities, can also be re-purposed quite effectively for Humanities research.
