Chandigarh, September 14, 2026: Government Home Science College provided a vibrant platform for promoting entrepreneurship among its students and alumni through its Swavlambi Corner, an initiative established to support budding and existing entrepreneurs by enabling them to display and sell their products on campus.
Kashish an alumna of the college and a former student of Fashion Designing, was given the opportunity to showcase her entrepreneurial venture, Boutique Chaap. Running her own startup, Kashish displayed a diverse collection of cotton suits and hand-embroidered formal suits. She also offered stitching services to students and staff.
The stall witnessed brisk sales and enthusiastic response from students and staff, reflecting the growing interest in home-grown entrepreneurial ventures. Kashish expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her alma mater for providing her with this valuable opportunity to promote and expand her business.
The Principal of the college Prof. Sudha Katyal encouraged such initiative emphasizing the college’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship, self-reliance and empowering young women to transform their skills into successful enterprises.
