Four arrested for murder

New Delhi, May 5 (IANS) A man and his three accomplices were arrested for murdering one of his neighbours and injuring another upon learning that the two were having an affair with his nieces, police Monday said.

Birju Tiwari, Arun Nagar, Raju Tiwari and Rahul were arrested for killing Deepak and injuring Ajay severely, who were friends and neighbours of Birju Tiwari.

According to police, the two victims were invited to a party by the accused near a forest on the night of April 24 and, after being offered drinks, they were beaten by bamboo sticks by the four.

The police were informed by some locals and both the victims were rushed to hospital where Deepak succumbed to his injuries the next day, while Ajay is recovering.

On a tip off, the police arrested Birju Tiwari and after interrogation, his associates were arrested as well. All the accused are in judicial custody till May 12.

"Birju became friends with Deepak and Ajay who had a mobile recharge shop in the area. His (Birju) nieces would often visit Ajay's shop and started an affair with him and Deepak," an official said.
