Foundation stone laid for two buildings administrative block and central library by Minister Som Parkash at Central University of Punjab

In a momentous occasion, the Honourable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash, laid the foundation stone for the Administrative Block and Central Library at the Central University of Punjab. The ceremony, held at the Central Hall of the university, witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari, the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab.

Bathinda, February 25, 2024: In a momentous occasion, the Honourable Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash, laid the foundation stone for the Administrative Block and Central Library at the Central University of Punjab. The ceremony, held at the Central Hall of the university, witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari, the Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab.

The program commenced with Gurbani Paath Ardaas and Hawan. After Gurbani Kirtan, Sarbat De Bhale Di Ardas and Havan, Union Minister of State Shri Som Prakash ji and Vice-Chancellor Professor Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari laid the foundation stone of the Academic Building and Central Library to be built at a cost of Rs 36 crore. The foundation stone laying ceremony marked a significant step towards the development of the university.

Speaking at the event, Minister Som Parkash commended the visionary leadership of Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari, acknowledging the university's remarkable achievement of obtaining an NAAC A+ grade and securing a position among the top 100 universities in India in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). 

Minister Som Parkash applauded the commitment of the Vice Chancellor and highlighted the university's success in achieving an A+ grade and ranking among the top institutions in the country. He expressed optimism in the capabilities of the young generation, stating that they can realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation. The Minister praised India's status as the fastest-growing economy globally, citing the rise in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the country's high ranking in ease of doing business. He attributed these achievements to the visionary leadership and commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While welcoming the chief guest Prof (Dr.) Raghavendra P Tiwari shed light on the university's achievements in its relatively short span of 15 years. He emphasized the university's commitment to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the institution is dedicated to training young minds with high potential in research and technical skills. The goal is to enable them to contribute significantly to the vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047,' as envisioned by the Prime Minister. Prof. Tiwari expressed his gratitude towards Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan for providing funds for construction of new buildings. He mentioned that currently Administrative Offices and University Library are located inside Aryabhata Academic Block. With the completion of two new buildings dedicated to Administrative Block and University Central Library, the space vacated at Aryabhata Academic Block shall be utilized for teaching and research purposes.

The ceremony was a testament to the e efforts and commitment of the university towards achieving academic excellence and contributing to the nation's progress.

On this occasion, Dean In-Charge Academic Prof. Ramakrishna Wasurika, Controller of Examinations Prof. B.P. Garg, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Sanjeev Thakur, Director IQAC Monisha Dhiman, Prof. Manjeet Bansal (MRSPTU), Executive Engineer Saurabh Gupta, Assistant Engineer Puneet Jassal, JE Puneet Kumar, JE Manoj Kumar, and Security Inspector Iqbal Singh, along with other faculty members and non-teaching staff, were also present.
