Foundation Batch of DLC SUPVA’s Acting Department Brings Premchand’s Classics Alive

Rohtak, December 13, 2025: The Mini Auditorium of the Faculty of Film & Television at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA) resonated with storytelling, emotion, and theatrical brilliance as the Foundation Batch of the Acting Department presented a Katha Collage based on three iconic works of Munshi Premchand - Panch Parmeshwar, Sawa Ser Gehun, and Ghaswali. The showcase was part of the students’ Jury Evaluation, and it drew an appreciative audience of faculty, jury members, and fellow students.

Guided and trained meticulously by faculty members Vibhanshu and Keshav from the Department of Acting, the young performers brought Premchand’s world alive with refreshing authenticity. Their interpretations captured the poignancy, social realism, and deep humanity that define Premchand’s literature. From the moral dilemma in Panch Parmeshwar to the sharp commentary on exploitation in Sawa Ser Gehun, and the complex emotional layers of Ghaswali, the students displayed impressive command over performance technique, character building, and narrative cohesion.

The Jury was conducted by Head, Acting Department Dushyant, with external experts Rajiv Raj (Actor & Director) and Kavya Kumar (Actor). All three jury members lauded the students for their sincerity, preparation, and instinctive performances. They also offered constructive feedback to help shape the students’ artistic journey as they progressed through the programme.

Speaking about the showcase, Dushyant (HOD Acting), said, “Premchand’s stories demand emotional precision and a deep understanding of human behaviour. This performance reflects the strength of our training approach and the commitment of our young actors.”

HOD Film & TV Mahesh TP asserted that the event not only highlighted the students’ growing competence in acting fundamentals but also reaffirmed varsity’s commitment to experiential and performance-based learning.
