Five days Skill Enhancement Course on Mastering Basic to Advanced Excel concluded today at the Department of Statistics, Panjab University. The course was aimed to equip the students in MS-Excel being used as the industry standard tool for data management, analysis, and visualisation across nearly every professional field. The students of M.Sc. Statistics and Research Scholars of the department participated in the course very enthusiastically.

Chandigarh, October 17, 2025: Five days Skill Enhancement Course on Mastering Basic to Advanced Excel concluded today at the Department of Statistics, Panjab University. The course was aimed to equip the students in MS-Excel being used as the industry standard tool for data management, analysis, and visualisation across nearly every professional field. The students of M.Sc. Statistics and Research Scholars of the department participated in the course very enthusiastically.
The skill enhancement courses provided a platform to the students to learn job-oriented and practical skills to meet the dynamic needs of profession as these courses bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional competency. Further, Students also gained opportunities to interact with Resource persons leading to valuable mentorship and a clearer understanding of potential career paths.
Resource Persons from Department of Statistics viz. Prof. Narinder Kumar, Chairperson, Dr. Anju Goyal and Mr. Harminder Singh Deosi and from University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), P.U., Prof. Sarabjeet Singh, Prof. Akshdeep Singh and Dr. Monika Sharma, delivered the lectures covering various concepts of Advanced Excel and also conducted the practical assignments for the students at the end of each session. Resource Person covered different course which includes Introduction to Excel and Model Building using Excel, Working with graphs and charts, Data Validation, Conditional formatting, inputting the data, Excel Pivot tables and What-if analysis, Working with Macros and VBA and Creating Dashboards and visualization, Data Analysis using Excel.
Feedback of the students was also obtained and majority of them were highly satisfied and suggested to conduct more such skill oriented courses.
