Five days International Science and Technology Week in PU

Chandigarh, 13 September 2025: More than 20 world renowned experts from premier universities and research institutions across the globe will address the International Science and Technology Week 2025 (ISTW2025) with the theme ‘Transforming life through Science and Technology’ at Dr SSB UICET Auditorium, Panjab University campus from 15 to 19 September. 

The five-day academic conclave will feature plenary sessions covering biotechnology, material sciences, climate change, artificial intelligence, biomedical sciences, plant genetics and digital innovation. The sessions will span more than fifteen scientific disciplines with participants representing over twenty-five countries.

Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig described the second edition of the International Science and Technology Week 2025 as a prestigious gathering that highlights the university’s commitment to advancing scientific excellence and fostering innovation to transform lives. She said the theme, Transforming Lives through Science and Technology, reflects the vision to bridge the gap between frontier research and real-world applications that benefit humanity.

The ISTW 2025 will also showcase groundbreaking research projects and innovative solutions from universities worldwide, with more than 600 registered participants including researchers, students and industry professionals. These networking sessions will facilitate collaborations between academia and industry, while the forum will encourage cross-border partnerships and international scientific initiatives. The event has a strong sustainable development focus, aligning discussions and projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on climate action, energy security and environmental protection.
