PCTE Hosts 5th National Conference on Indian Knowledge System, Sustainable Development & Bharat 2047
PCTE Group of Institutes hosted the 5th National Conference on “Indian Knowledge System and Sustainable Development: Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Bharat 2047,” bringing together academicians, researchers and professionals to discuss the relevance of India’s traditional knowledge in addressing contemporary challenges.

Ludhiana, September 29, 2026: PCTE Group of Institutes hosted the 5th National Conference on “Indian Knowledge System and Sustainable Development: Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Bharat 2047,” bringing together academicians, researchers and professionals to discuss the relevance of India’s traditional knowledge in addressing contemporary challenges.
The conference was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Ayush Jain, Partner, INV Asset PMS and Founder, Team Ayush Jain; Dr. Neha Sardana, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Ropar; and Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Director, UIHTM, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. K. N. S. Kang, Director General, PCTE, along with senior faculty members, was also present.
Ayush Jain shared insights on education, technology and emerging opportunities for the younger generation. Dr. Neha Sardana spoke about the milestones and advancements in Indian metallurgical science, along with her research in nanostructured materials and plasmonics. Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal highlighted hospitality education, sustainable tourism and India’s rich culinary heritage.
The Conference Abstract Book was also released, featuring research contributions on Indian Knowledge Systems, sustainability and interdisciplinary approaches towards Bharat 2047.
Harpreet K. Kang, Dean, International Affairs, PCTE Group of Institutes, emphasised the importance of connecting India’s traditional knowledge with modern education and research. She highlighted the role of educational institutions in encouraging students and researchers to explore indigenous knowledge while addressing contemporary challenges.
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Harmeet Singh, Director Research, PCTE, followed by the National Anthem.
