194 teams from across the country participate; legal excellence and cultural vibrancy steal the spotlight

Mohali, April 4, 2026: The School of Legal Studies at CGC University Mohali successfully organized its first-ever two-day national-level law fest, Lex Fiesta 2026, marking a significant milestone in the academic calendar of the region. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director, HIRD and Member, Hindi Advisory Committee, Government of India, who formally lit the ceremonial lamp. The primary objective of the fest was to nurture advocacy skills, constitutional awareness, and analytical thinking among law students. Under the leadership of Dr. J.P. Yadav (Dean, School of Legal Studies), the event witnessed participation from 194 teams representing prestigious institutions across the country, including 83 teams from outside states and universities.

During the two-day fest, students showcased their talent in a wide range of legal and cultural competitions. The competitions witnessed remarkable performances and highly competitive outcomes. In the Client Counseling Competition, Janhvi Pahwa and Smriti Maun from Panjab University Regional Centre secured the first position, followed by Mohammad Arif and Divanshi from UILS, Panjab University in second place. Teams from CGC University secured the third and fourth positions.

In the Maxims Competition, Rhea Kashyap from CGC University emerged as the winner, while Himanshi from Amity University Mohali secured second place. In the Constitutional Quiz, Dilpreet Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University secured first position, while Navjot Kaur from CGC University stood second. In the “Just a Minute” competition, Nazim Kaur from Baba Farid Law College secured first place, while Vanshika Goel from Amity University secured second place. Alongside legal events, cultural competitions also captivated the audience. The team from Swait secured first position in folk dance, while Modi College won the skit competition.

On this occasion, Managing  Director of CGC University, Arsh Dhaliwal, stated that Lex Fiesta provides students an opportunity to go beyond traditional classroom learning and gain practical exposure to courtroom proceedings and public speaking skills. The winners were awarded with a total cash prize of ₹51,000 along with trophies. The successful event has established CGC University as a significant hub for legal education at the national level.
